I will never forget when I got my very first central heating and air conditioning system in my house.
I had never had central heating and air conditioning before and did not know the common basics that everyone should know.
You would have figured just turn on the thermostat and go right? Well, believe it or not I didn’t understand the concept of air filters! I ended up going for almost a year without changing the air filter of my central heating and air conditioning system. It would have possibly been even longer had the indoor air quality of my home not gone downhill and if I did not call the local heating and air conditioning company to do an annual heating and air conditioning system tune up and check up. The heat and a/c specialist that was doing the tune up asked me how long it had been since I changed my air filter. I asked “what is an air filter?”, he thought I was joking! He went on to tell me all about air filters and then it all made sense to me. Ever since then I have always been very careful of the air filter in the central heating and air conditioning system unit. I make sure and change out the air filter once a month, even if it really doesn’t need to be changed. This is something I have been doing now for over 20 years, and it is a really good thing that I am not on top of things when it comes to air filters and my central heating and air conditioning system unit!
