I got a big promotion a couple of months ago and my husband already went down to the new location where we are going to be living.
It’s a couple of states away and it’s much further south than where we are living now.
I know for a fact that it’s going to take a lot of getting used to when we move down there. We are used to living where the temperature is pretty mild and the summer temperatures don’t usually get about 77 degrees or so on a hot day. From what I’ve been reading about and hearing from people who live there, our new town has days in the summer where the temperature reaches into the triple digits. Needless to say, it’s going to be a bit of a culture shock for us along with a climate shock whenever we get moved in down there. I think I’m really going to like the new job, but I’m getting to be a little bit concerned when it comes to how we are going to be able to deal with all of the heat down there. We’ve never really even had to use our central air conditioning system very much in our current house. My husband said that down there, the main selling point for homes is the type of air conditioning system that it has. He recently found a house that he thought that we would like, but the realtor told him that we would definitely have to redo the entire air conditioning system on the house if we wanted to make it through our first summer down there. I’m actually getting nervous about moving now!
