I know that a lot of people don’t think that they should spend much money on air filters for their HVAC systems, especially since it’s just something that they are going to eventually throw out anyway.
- Of course, there is no air filter that is going to last forever.
They go into your air conditioning unit or your furnace to make sure that nothing bad is going to get into your ventilation system. Once their job is done, though, you have to pull them out and get rid of them. Replacing an old air filter with a new one is one of those chores that always makes me feel like I’m getting some immediate gratification. I know that it’s probably all in my head, really, but it still makes me feel like the indoor air quality in the house gets better right after I change the air filters. We recently switched over to a higher grade of air filter. I read somewhere that using high quality air filters like HEPA filters are better for the indoor air quality in your home and so I started purchasing those instead of the store brand that I used to buy. I will have to say that I think the HEPA air filters are probably worth the extra money that I spend on them. I don’t know for sure, but it seems like I have been having fewer problems with allergies and my daughter seems to be having fewer asthma flare ups since we started using the HEPA air filters in our HVAC system. And honestly, as long as the indoor air quality is helping us to feel better and breathe easier in our home, then they are totally worth the money!
