I’m glad my dad taught me how to fix things

My dad taught me how to fix all kinds of things when I was growing up and still living at home.

He was always really good at fixing all kinds of things and he liked to show me how to fix things too.

I liked learning about stuff like that when I was a kid and now I’m really glad that I did because it’s saving me a lot of money now. As a homeowner, there’s always things going wrong around here and all of the things that tear up seem to cost me money. It’s really annoying and lately I’ve been having some issues with my heating and cooling system. There are always things that I can fix myself, thanks to my dad. He showed me how to do regular maintenance on my furnace and how to change the air filters. Not only that, but he always used to show me how to work on the furnace and do troubleshooting whenever there was a problem. Now that my furnace is going on the blink more often than it used to, I’m really glad that I know how to fix certain things with the heating system. If I didn’t know how to do the regular furnace maintenance myself like my dad showed me how to do, then I would be paying a small fortune in HVAC bills on a regular basis! Knowing how to fix things is both a blessing and a curse, though, since the rest of my family always wants me to come work on their heating and cooling systems whenever they have a problem. I like being able to help people, but sometimes I’m just too busy to get it all done.
