My wife and I went to the city for a couple of days and we decided to stay in a hotel.
I made reservations online with one of the websites.
I picked a room with a king-size bed, refrigerator, safe, and a view of the city skyline. My wife and I checked into the room on Friday evening. We didn’t have any plans until Saturday, but we wanted to be well rested for our day in the city. As soon as we checked into the room, we realized that the HVAC unit wasn’t running. I walked over to the unit near the window and I changed the temperature on the thermostat. I turned on the AC, adjusted the fan to high, and adjusted the thermostat to 68°. The air conditioner came on and started running, but it stopped after a minute or two. The machine was making a strange sound like the fan was trying to run but something was stuck inside. I called the front desk clerk to inform the guy about the problem with the AC. The hotel desk clerk was rude and discourteous and he didn’t want to switch our room. I told the clerk that we weren;t going to stay in that room unless the AC problem was fixed immediately. When he told me that it would take several hours, I demanded another room. The desk clerk tried to tell me that they didn’t have any other rooms available, but I knew that was a lie. After all, the parking lot was half empty and it was almost 8 at that time.
