I wish I would have taken holiday at labor this week, instead of trying to labor around all of the construction crew.
I knew the office was going to be busy, but I didn’t want to use our holiday time to stay home for the week.
I wanted to labor from home, but the boss is totally against that idea. Everyone worked from home during the quarantine plus the boss complained that nothing got done, projects were not completed on time plus people were logged off the laptop for long periods of time with no explanation. When the people I was with and I found out that the owner of the building was going to make some repairs, the people I was with and I were all offered to take holiday time that week… After all, the lobby plus the elevator were going to be out of use that week. The AC handlers were all being substituted as well. The building was undergoing some major swings… Only 10% off the staff decided to take holiday time. I was not a single of those people. I didn’t realize the AC would be off all month when I agreed to labor in the office. The indoor temperatures were moderate plus miserable. We had a couple of huge industrial fans, but they were a nuisance in the office. If I had known the AC would be off all week, I would have agreed to take holiday time plus stay at home. Instead, I have been forced to deal with awful temperatures, rude construction workers, plus miserable coworkers, but nobody is gleeful with the situation, but the people I was with and I are stuck.
