Trying to get work done… but I don’t know how the thermostat works

When people get to know me they often think that I am an extroverted and laid-back human being.

I find this particularly funny because I am the opposite of both of those things.

I am extremely introverted and my attention is always directed towards tasks I can complete with an anxious fire under my butt. I’m not good at calming down or having relaxed days. I like to get as much work done as possible and feel as though I’m truly accomplishing something for every moment that my eyes are open. That being said, sometimes I can have a really difficult time concentrating or being productive if the indoor air temperature isn’t just right. If my surrounding temperature is too high or too low I am going to be miserable. I don’t like to be sweating through my shirt or freezing in my seat when I’m attempting to concentrate. This can make it extremely hard to get any work done if I’m away from my own central heating, cooling, and air quality control system. Recently this was the case when I went to my uncle’s house and realized I had no idea how to utilize his thermostat. He was already gone for the day and I found myself utterly baffled by the temperature control unit in the kitchen. No matter what I did, it seems like the air temperature only got lower and I got more uncomfortable. Eventually, I called my uncle and asked for thermostat help. That’s when he told me the smart thermostat was on an automatic temperature control program and I couldn’t change the air quality if I wanted to.
