I recently had a brand new thermostat installed in my house.
- I have lived in my current house for about 15 years and my old thermostat was probably 10 years older than that so it’s definitely time for an upgrade.
I thought it might be a good idea to do some research on the newest technology and thermostats. After doing some online research I found that smart thermostats are the way of the future. You can control the temperature of your house on your smart phone. I don’t have to worry about changing the air filters and other maintenance because the app on your phone reminds you. So I called a local HVAC company and they installed the smart thermostat for me. However, I think the HVAC technician that installed my smart thermostat didn’t know what they were doing. Now I’ve had my smart thermostat for about two weeks and it won’t stop blinking with a low battery alert. There’s no way I have a low battery but I can’t get a hold of anyone at the local HVAC company and I really don’t know what to do. I reached out to the manufacturer of the smart thermostat and I can’t get a response either. I think either the smart thermostat was not installed properly or I have a faulty device. I’m starting to get annoyed and wish I had my old thermostat. Maybe I should just go back in time and never get the smart thermostat installed.
