On a hot summer’s day once, a group of us decided to take a road trip.
We chose to head west, and it was four of us.
We were friends in college and some of us even before then. We had all worked in the same industry, construction. Two of us quit jobs and decided to find new work out west, the others were just here for the adventure. We got a few of our luggage bags packed and our furniture, we decided to rent a huge moving truck. We packed the whole truck, it was very hot outside and the air vents in the truck were gonna be our savior. We turned the air conditioner up, checked the tires and gas and hit the road. We made great distance the first day, we had four to go. It was one of the hottest summers we have had in a while. We had traveled about three hundred miles and suddenly the air conditioner on the moving truck went out. We were four people deep in a huge moving truck, and the windows only went half way down for safety reasons. We were hot, sweaty and without any fans or air conditioning units. The old moving truck didn’t have any modern heating or cooling system, and it obviously was on its last leg when it died. Without an air conditioner and in the middle of summer we made our way up the highway to the west. We learned a few lessons, and learned how to deal with some of the heat from the road on our trip.
