I absolutely love baking cookies, cakes, and pies.
Every year when we have a big event at the church, I bake cookies and cakes for the bake sale.
This year I promised to make 100 cupcakes and 200 cookies. I decided to start working on the project last weekend, but I didn’t anticipate having trouble with the indoor air quality. I had the oven running all day and the AC was working hard. I decided to adjust the temperature on the thermostat since the oven was running and making the kitchen temperature much warmer. I was on my fifth batch of cookies when I felt warm air coming out of the air conditioner vent. I put my fingertips inside of the vent and the air was still warm. I looked at the temperature on the thermostat and it was 78 degrees, even though I had the temperature on the thermostat set for 72. I had to stop making cookies, so I could call the repair service to look at the AC unit. The AC repair service couldn’t arrive until later that day. I had cookie dough all over the kitchen and I didn’t want it to go to waste. I carefully packed everything in bowls and bags and I put the cookie dough in the refrigerator. After the repair service fixed the problem with the AC, I decided to wait until it was dark to make the rest of the cookies. I didn’t want to take any chances that would run into additional problems with the AC again.
