My seasoned pal John is wanting to do a little bit of work around the property for me.
He certainly is a handy guy, in the general sense, & I know he has a background in it, but I’m still not incredibly sure! I have known John since eighth grade, when we rested next to each other in math class.
The two of us both failed that class, mainly because of fooling with each other, & sat next to each other in Summer school that actual year. I got my act together, but John never did. I teach english classes to foreign students over Zoom nowadays, & John is in between construction tasks. I trust him with hanging new doors & repairing the drywall, things of that nature. Something such as swimming pool construction is a pretty sizable task for him. He has worked construction tasks of a single kind or another for a good amount of his adult life, so he has experience. I just don’t know if it is the right kind of experience. The reason he has worked all varying styles of construction tasks is that he keeps getting fired & has to move on to new jobs. It’s not as though he is a general contract regularly waiting for his next task, he’s a former carpenter turned roofer turned landscaper who constantly gets fired for being drunk at the workplace! So I will provide him very light tasks to help him out because I know he’s having a very challenging time. I will actually save all the legit construction work for a legit construction business, but when I get a swimming pool put in, I want it to be something incredibly nice.
