Not a good idea to keep playing with a horrendous poker hand

“He’s certainly not getting up from that hit and he seems to be in a great deal of pain” were the announcer’s words as he reported on the star quarterback of a team I had just put my bet on… The damaged QB was carted off the field and our team went on to lose the game.

I don’t think anybody saw that coming, but it is most definitely proof that life can deal out a “bad hand” at different times. Poker is another interest where a bad hand will most definitely cost you money unless you have excellent bluffing skills. You could potentially get lucky and fill an inside straight with your final draw, but the reality of the situation is, you never honestly know what will happen in football and poker. With other things in life, there are all kinds of warning signs that something bad could potentially happen. This is easily true with a home’s Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment that will put the owner on notice with rattles, thumping, and bizarre noises. The bad hand has been dealt and the owner must choose a certain course of action… It’s certainly tempting to ignore it and hope it all just goes away, but that’s basically like bluffing with a bad poker hand against professional players. The next option is to get your toolkit and begin hammering away to discover the source of the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment noise. This may put you in the hospital right by your star quarterback if you run into a gas line or fail to discharge a capacitor while “exploring” the compressor equipment. The safe move to make is to fold your hand by turning off the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment, and making a call to a professional Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker. In a vast majority of cases, the setback with your heating and cooling equipment will be minor, easily repaired and you’ll still have plenty of currency left over to make the worst bets.
