Smart HOmes are Cool but Get Computer Security

Instead of hooking up that night I went over some basic network risk management procedures, plus helped to tighten up his smart house configurations

I was seeing this guy a while back, plus he had the first smart house I had ever been inside. I had seen videos and pictures of smart homes however never been inside one. Self opening windows, lights plus entertainment systems you could control with voice commands, it was pretty awesome. It also had a strong security system, with cameras plus sensors, that was also responsive to being told what to do. I was just getting into coding plus programming back then, plus I started grilling him about the details of the computer method that connected all of this. It turns out he got a kick out of the gadgets however had never given any thought to cybersecurity plus how vulnerable his new smart home really was. By connecting everything in the house into one voice commanded system, he was putting all his eggs in one basket, plus a network perimeter security breach of any kind would be disastrous, and even the most beginning hacker could take over the smart house, so having some threat detection in locale was something he should not do without. Instead of hooking up that night I went over some basic network risk management procedures, plus helped to tighten up his smart house configurations. He didn’t realize it, but because he didn’t have any mobile security anyone could have been gazing at us through the cameras plus devices in the house that very night. When both of us did decide to hook up it would have to be at my house, which had satisfactory method security and had no cameras at all. That night changed my thinking about cybersecurity, however also made me realize I want nothing to do with having a “smart house.”
